Dr. Chen Liang is an internationally acclaimed Chinese-born pianist and a recording artist with KNS Classical (Spain), as well as a featured performing artist at the Chengdu City Concert Hall (China). He has appeared as soloist with major ensembles including the Chongqing Philharmonic (China), Greece Symphony Orchestra (New York), and the Lynn Philharmonia (Florida).

 

A laureate of numerous international competitions, Dr. Liang has earned top prizes at the Clara Schumann International Piano Competition, Manhattan International Music Competition, Lira International Piano Competition, Big Arts Classical Music Competition, and the Lynn University Concerto Competition. He also received high honors at the “ArsClassica” International Piano Competition (Italy), PianoTexas International Festival & Academy Concerto Competition, and the Chautauqua Music Festival Piano Competition.

 

Based in Seattle, Dr. Liang serves as Vice President of the South King County Music Teachers Association and sits on the Artistic Board of the Seattle International Piano Competition. He is on the piano faculty at the Chopin Academy of Music and previously held academic appointments as Lecturer at the State University of New York at Geneseo and as Teaching Assistant at the Eastman School of Music.

 

In China, he is the co-founder and Artistic Director of the Beyond Clouds Summer Piano Festival in Chengdu, an innovative platform for young pianists that has been thriving since 2018.

 

Dr. Liang holds a Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music, where he studied with Natalya Antonova, and a Bachelor of Music from Lynn University Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Roberta Rust.
